Even though the city is high in altitude, the summer seasonal temperatures are still mild and warm. Denver is probably known for its winter weather. There is a lot of snowfall, ice, and freezing rain. Denver has a number of ski resorts. Most of the resorts are located on the outskirts of town near the mountain ranges. During the winter months, Denver is often filled with tourists that are visiting the ski resorts. There are less tourists in Denver during the summer, but the summer weather is my favorite. My kids and I don’t mind leaving the windows open and turning off the air conditioner. We live close to the park and the smell of fresh trees fills the air. During the spring and summer months, I prefer outdoor activities that have my family and I spending time in nature. Denver has a ton of outdoor parks that are free to visit and they have activities such as swimming, canoeing, and picnicking. Last weekend the kids and I decided to go for a hike. We packed several bottles of water and a quart bag of trail mix. We left the car in the parking lot of the park. By the time we got back, it was almost 90 degrees outside. We didn’t leave any of the windows open, so it was really hot inside of the car. We had you sit with the doors open for several minutes before I decided to turn on the car and start the air conditioner.
