My apartment in Cocoa is in the older part of the city.

Cocoa has a relatively small population, but it also has a small land size. There are a lot of strange stories about the way that the city of cocoa got its name. My mom told me a story about the town getting its name from a box labeled Baker’s cocoa. I never much believed my mom, but there are a lot of historical books that point in the same direction. I like living in Cocoa because of its close proximity to Cape Canaveral. Cape Canaveral is one of the coolest places in Florida. It is located in Brevard County, just a few miles away from Cocoa. Cape Canaveral is a place where rockets are still being launched. I work in Cape Canaveral and Cocoa is only a short drive everyday. The only problem with living here is the heat and humidity. It is very hot during the spring, summer, and fall months. I would love to live in another geographical location where the temperatures are not so warm, but I don’t want to leave my job or my family. My apartment has two very nice ductless AC machines. I run them with a smart thermostat. During the day I keep both of the AC machines off, and during the evening I only use the AC in the room of the house where I am relaxing. This cuts down on the high price of energy and gives the machine a break every once in a while.
