Just south of Chicago, IL, is the little neighborhood of Lansing; I have lived in Lansing for the past 20 years.
I care about that small community & it is not absolutely far from the tied up city, and the commuter train can get you close to a lot of the bars, diners, & town landmarks.
The town shares its name with the capital of Michigan, it is entirely a single of the suburbs of Chicago! Since every one of us are only seconds from Lake Michigan, the weather during the Winter weeks is cold cold with lots of wind & snow. It’s important to have a unbelievable oil furnace when it’s cold outside, especially when the temperatures are below cold, however last weekend, it was only 25 during the day. The two of us had snowfall more than two afternoons in a row. I called the HVAC shop in Lansing to check on the oil furnace before the cold afternoons were here. I was already having some trouble keeping the loft warm & I knew the temperatures were only going to get colder after Christmas. The repair specialist from the HVAC shop in Lansing came to the loft & performed a diagnostic check. The specialist felt that the ignition switch should be changed out. He did not find a lot of troubles with the oil furnace other than the faulty ignition switch. The HVAC specialist suggested new weather stripping around the doors & windows & he also stated that the insulation in our attic was almost 20 years old. I’m sure all of these troubles have something to do with the fact that it is hard to heat the loft when it is cold outside.
