I can’t imagine living in an area that doesn’t get all four distinct seasons.
I love that I can experience periods of warmth and cold.
My family would go crazy if it was beachwear all year long or snow gear. I am fortunate to live in Glenview, Illinois. If you look it up, there isn’t a whole lot to do here. The area is nice though. It is beautiful, safe, quiet and there are great schools. What more could I ask for? I really don’t mind that the weather gets cold. I feel if you have good HVAC equipment, weather should never be a factor in your decision making on where to live. My family splurged to get heated flooring to help us during the winter. The electric heated mats went under our wood floors during the installation. Now on cold days our toes are toasty warm. It doesn’t create any noise or cold spots. I hardly notice the heating system anywhere. In the summer I rely on a small window AC unit in the bedroom, living room and kitchen. We don’t need anything more powerful than that. Our summers don’t last too long and aren’t that hot after all. What really is great is that there is a wonderful HVAC company in our area. I have them come out twice a year to check the HVAC machine. I know everything is working well and I have a whole year to feel at peace with it. My weather changes then don’t cause me any panic.
