Eloping to California

My husband and I eloped and decided to post up in California.

  • It seemed like a good place to have a honeymoon and a small, private ceremony.

My husband and I didn’t want anyone but us and the photographer. We wanted beautiful pictures and a quiet area. I started looking around and I was sold on Thousand Oaks, the place I wanted to get married. It is just 45 minutes outside of LA. I choose to have us say vows and get our pictures taken in Wildwood Regional Park. What was nice is that the photographer let us bump up the price to go to another location. We ended up getting pictures at Conejo Valley and the Gardens of the World. Our pictures turned out so pretty. I loved that we had different backgrounds. Sometimes it was trees, a waterfall, or pretty flowers. It was unique for each one. There weren’t a lot of people there, so it felt really private and nobody was in the background of our pictures. What was nice is that we kicked off our honeymoon there and then migrated to the bustling city of Los Angeles to party. My husband and I agree that we did like Thousand Oaks a lot better though. It was much more than our speed. It was prettier, cheaper and the nature side of Cali was more fun than the nightlife. We ended up going on a few hikes there and taking some great pictures just ourselves. I wouldn’t trade our California wedding for anything.
