I love living in Lee’s Summit.
- There are a ton of community centers here that offer a lot of fun things to do.
The summertime is the best time and is very kid friendly. The J.Thomas Lovell Jr. The Community Center at Legacy Park has an indoor pool. It has a big leisure pool with a slide and there is a hot tub. I like that I can drop the kids off to play in the pool. I then head to the wellness floor and can do a long work out. I have access to free weights, circuit training and treadmills. I take as long as I want since the kids are entertained in the pool. Afterwards if we wanted to head to Legacy Lake there are canoes and stand up paddle board rentals. That is a fun summer activity. I like that everything is locally owned and operated. It is close to our house and the staff is friendly. What is great is that it is cheap as well. The Missouri summers are a really nice temperature. It is perfectly fine to be outside with a light sheen of sunblock. After a long day at the pool, I make sure to pre-cool our AC for the kids. They are all sunbaked and tired out. They then sleep like a dream in the evening. It is a staple of our summer to spend most of the day at the pools or lake and then end our evening in bed with the AC on. I wouldn’t trade where I live for anywhere else in the world.
